Did George Steinbrenner make baseball better?

You either loved or hated the boss but you must agree that George Steinbrenner was good for baseball and now that he is gone we'll all find out just how good as we see the Yankees become another adverage team without the fear factor that George brought to the team and even the fans.

My question is it fact or fiction that the Yankees will not be as good without George Steinbrenner?
